Here is Kennedy in her "pioneer" dress from Grandma Nelson. Of course, Cooper had to get his picture taken as well. Ken is pretty much walking now, although she prefers scooting around if she wants to get places fast.

Shane in his favorite position -- laying on the couch! This week has been a rough one for him, as he was laid off on Monday from his job of nearly 4 years with Stores Online. The news was quite sudden and kindof a punch in the stomach. We keep telling ourselves that this is a blessing and an opportunity in disguise, since he will not have to be gone traveling so much, but there were a lot of good things about that job that he is going to miss -- I guess the paycheck first and foremost. After having traveled so much and had pretty much every other week off, I do not think he is going to be able to settle for a 9-to-5 job, especially one in an office. So, the wonderful job hunting process has begun. I guess this economic slump has hit us more personally that we thought it would. You always hope that it won't be you. It's a good thing that Shane is a good saver, so we are somewhat prepared (although you can never be fully prepared for that). I guess if any of you know of anything, or know someone who knows someone else, then let us know. Good luck to the rest of you during this "recession".

I don't know if you would be willing to move north...east, but BYU-I just announced they will be expanding the enrollment again with more students being added significantly through 2015. I don't know what they have open right now, but I'm sure they will need people with all kinds of backgrounds- I'm sure Alycia could find something too- even part time if she wanted, I know a lot of women who do job sharing etc.- great benefits- everything is new -you saw all of the new building right? You would need to get a snowblower, but other than that...it's perfect!!!!

I'm sorry! We have had a taste of what that is like. Even though we still have a job, we have to sell our house and move to where there is a higher cost of living. It is going to be a bit tough. We also know a lot of people that DID loose their jobs. Not fun! Good luck!

I hope Kennedy keeps her walking skills to herself. I do not want Kasen to learn to walk. I can't keep with him as it is. Those kids are such sweethearts. It was fun to have Cooper over for a while the other day. He is pretty much one of the big boys now. In fact Dixon and Jackson were discussing his "boy status." They said that Cooper is a little boy, Jackson is a big boy, and Dixon is pretty much a grown up! This is from Dixon, of course.

Hey Leash,
I definitely know what thats like to lose a job. I got layed off the first week in Dec. and just started my new job today! It was a long nice vacation though, but Im so glad to be working again. It was hard at first, but its true that better things come from it. We have been so blessed and feel like it needed to happen even though I loved my job. I'm now going to do sales for another company in Salt Lake. If I hear of anything I will let you guys know. I wish you guys the best of luck finding something. Things will work out. Talk to you later.

Hey Alycia,

Cute family!! Sorry about your hubby losing his job, hopefully that won't be for long! I was at the funeral too, but I must have missed ya. There was a lot of people there. It was a sad but spiritual funeral, I know that Jenny will pull through this! I can't imagine what she is going through but I know that her knowledge of the gospel will make all the difference. I wish I would have seen you. I did see a few of our classmates there. Take care!
